Program 73Sighing & Crying … or Fleeing!

Welcome to WLC Radio, a subsidiary of World’s Last Chance Ministries, an online ministry dedicated to learning how to live in constant readiness for the Savior's return.

For two thousand years, believers of every generation have longed to be the last generation. Contrary to popular belief, though, Christ did not give believers “signs of the times” to watch for. Instead, he repeatedly warned that his coming would take even the faithful by surprise. Yahushua urgently warned believers to be ready because, he said, “The Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” [Matthew 24:44]

WLC Radio: Teaching minds and preparing hearts for Christ's sudden return.

Part 1: (Miles & Dave)

Miles Robey: Welcome! Welcome to WLC Radio. I’m your host, Miles Robey. Joining me is Dave Wright!

Dave Wright:
Hello! I want to thank each one of you for tuning in and making us a part of your day.

Today, we’re going to be talking about a very solemn warning contained in Scripture. It’s very serious and yet … most people don’t take it seriously!

What I mean is, they think it applies to everyone else, but they consider themselves exempt from the warning.

Miles: Before we jump into that, though, I want to give a quick word of explanation to anyone joining us for the first time.

Romans 10:13 promises us, quote: “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” But, you know, “Lord” isn’t a name!

Dave: No, it’s just a title. Doesn’t really mean anything special—particularly not anything specific enough to refer to the Creator.

Miles: Well, if you go back to the original Hebrew, you can learn the Father’s actual, personal name! It’s Yahuwah, or Yah. That’s occasionally used, too. And it’s a very unusual name because it is a verb of being. At it’s root, it means to be.

Dave:
I love the definition of the Father’s name. When you realize that His personal name is a verb of being, then you can fit in all the verbs of being:

He IS.

He WAS.
He WILL BE.
He SHALL HAVE BEEN.

Any conjugation you want to use, is a perfect description of the Father, and every one of those is a promise.

Miles: The Saviour’s name is a promise, too! His name is Yahushua. You can hear the name of “Yahuwah” in the Son’s name, can’t you?

Yahuwah … Yahushua.

The Son’s name, like I said, is a promise, too, because Yahushua means, literally: “Yahuwah saves.”

Dave: They do absolutely everything they can to inspire us with faith and hope, don’t they?

Miles: Yeah, they really do.

So, what’s the solemn warning we all think doesn’t apply to ourselves, but it does?

Dave:
When I say it, you’ll recognize it because we’ve talked about it on here before. That’s Revelation 18:4. But let’s get it in context. Could you read Revelation 18, verse 1 to 4 for us?

Miles:

And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Dave: Babylon is a symbol of false religion. What’s interesting is that, whatever Babylon is guilty of, has influenced the entire world, because the text says “all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”

Miles: I just want to insert a quick word of explanation. We don’t have time to really get into it here, but we have covered it on other broadcasts as well as articles on our website. The “wine” of Babylon is her false doctrines. The one false doctrine that Rome has imposed on the world is her counterfeit calendar.

She’s got the entire world working, playing, and, most importantly, worshiping by her false, Gregorian calendar. If you’ve missed those earlier broadcasts, you can still listen to them on our website, or YouTube. So, check it out!

Dave: Thanks, Miles. And the result of this worldwide apostasy is a very clear command from Heaven.

Miles: “Come out of her, My people.”

Dave:
Yes. The problem is, most people misinterpret this verse. They see it as an invitation.

Obviously, a person is not a member of a church unless they genuinely believe that church has the truth, right?

Miles: Right.

Dave: So we end up playing this mind game on ourselves. We’re reading along and when we get to verse 4, we think, “Well, that can’t apply to me! I’m one of the remnant! I’m in the one true church! I need to take this invitation to the world and let them know that my church has the truth. I need to invite them to join us!”

See what I’m saying here?

Miles: Yeah. It’s really not seen as a command at all. Just an invitation.

Dave:
But that’s wrong. This is actually a command. I’ve looked up the word in the original Greek, and the Bible translation that comes the closest to the original meaning is the Geneva Bible. That’s the one favored by the Protestant Reformers.

The Geneva Bible doesn’t extend an invitation. Instead, it issues a command. I’ve got it here. Would you read it for us?

Miles: “And I heard another voice from heaven say, Go out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”

That’s a big difference. Just one little word, but it changes the meaning entirely.

Dave: Come … is an invitation. But go … that’s a command. What this means for every single one of us is that the command to leave the fallen churches does not exempt our own denomination!

Miles: This is a really good point. I have to admit that I’m one of those who always viewed this verse as an invitation. A sort of, “Come join my denomination.” It’s embarrassing to admit that it wasn’t until I was an adult that I figured out everyone else felt the same way!

Dave:
How’d you figure that out?

Miles: My wife and I became acquainted with a couple who had been members of the World Wide Church of God for many years.

Dave: Their denomination kind of fell apart back in the … 1990s, wasn’t it?

Miles: Yeah. There was a real theological crisis at the time. They lost up to 50% of their membership when the church leaders decided to give up the seventh-day Sabbath and the feasts, and become more mainstream evangelical.

Now, I’d been aware of what was going on in that denomination. More on a periphery level, but it didn’t really affect me! After all, they were a fallen church! I was part of the remnant!

Dave laughs: I hear you. The one belief all Christians hold in common, aside from a belief in Yahushua, is that everyone else is wrong and their church is right.

Miles: Well, that’s what these friends were saying! They had been told that they were the remnant and all other churches were fallen. After all, they didn’t worship on Sunday, they kept the feasts. They had the truth!

Dave:
So, what happened when the denomination changed their doctrines?

Miles: Well, this couple ended up losing most of their friends because they refused to remain members of a church that had given up its Bible-based beliefs. They were told they needed to remain with the church and try to make changes from the inside out.

Now what’s really interesting, is that when they withdrew their membership, their former friends rejected them because … they still thought of themselves as the remnant!

Dave: Even though the church had changed their doctrines.

Miles: Yes. And so, when our friends quit going to church, when they quit supporting it financially with their tithes and offerings, everyone who still attended took this as proof that the ones leaving were now “lost” and no longer part of the “remnant.” It was very twisted around, but everyone who remained loyal to the church were convinced that they were still the “remnant.”

Dave:
It is a common teaching of most churches that their denomination is the only “true” church and everyone else is lost or “fallen.” So, it follows that if you want to be a member of the “remnant,” you must be a tithe-paying member of the one true church, which is, of course, their church.

It’s also a fact that pastors, priests, rabbis all have a vested interest in retaining as many members as possible. After all, the organization to which they give their tithes and offerings is the same organization that pays the leaders’ wages.

Miles: It’s almost like a pyramid scheme: one person at the top, supported by a handful under him, propped up by still more, all pressing down on the back of the many.

Dave: That’s exactly what it is, and Satan wants it that way. By controlling a handful of people at the very top, he can use the weight of the infrastructure to influence, and control, the majority. It’s very efficient, but it constricts the flow of truth.

And you can see why. I think there are sincere ministers out there who, when given the chance to learn more truth, may embrace it. But when their livelihood, their ability to support their families, is anchored in maintaining the status quo of the organization that pays them, you can see how truth can give way to expedience.

If you’ve got your Bible, turn over to Ezekiel, chapter 8. Ezekiel 8 and 9 are a passage that religious leaders like to quote, to keep as many people coming to church as possible.

Miles: I’ve noticed this tendency. Preachers use Ezekiel 8 and 9 to make people think they have a duty to remain members of the church even when it is clear the church is in apostasy! And, of course, because they’re quoting from the word of Yah, it carries a lot of weight.

Dave:
I agree. The problem is, the way religious leaders interpret these chapters is incorrect, even deceptive. It also contradicts other passages of Scripture.

Now, Ezekiel, you’ll remember, was a contemporary of Daniel. Along with thousands of others, he was a captive taken to Babylon. Ezekiel 8 records a vision given him in which the spirit of Yahuwah showed him the abominations being committed in Jerusalem and the temple there.

Miles: Wait a minute. I thought Nebuchadnezzar destroyed the temple in Jerusalem.

Dave: He did, but not initially. The first invasion of Jerusalem occurred when Nebuchadnezzar was fairly young. While in the west, he received word that his father, Nabopolassar, had just died and he did a quick, forced march through the desert to return to Babylon. Usually, armies marched around the Fertile Crescent, but he wanted to return quickly in order to secure his throne. This was the first time Babylon marched against Jerusalem and the time when Daniel and his three friends were taken to Babylon.

But there were two more invasions after this and it was during the last one that Solomon’s temple was destroyed. So, yes, at the time of Ezekiel’s vision, the temple was still standing and priests were still ministering there.

Miles: Okay. Hold that thought. We’re going to take a quick break and when we return, let’s see what Ezekiel has to say.

We’ll be right back.

* * *Part 2: (Miles & Dave)

Dave: In his vision, Ezekiel was shown four abominations, each one worse than the last and each one moving deeper into the city and temple.

We’re not going to take the time to read through it all, but these include, among other things, hidden idolatry and women weeping for Tammuz—a practice known in Catholicism as Lent. .

Miles: Even Protestant churches have started embracing Lent as a spiritual exercise!

Dave: The final abomination shown Ezekiel is the worst. Would you read it for us? It’s Ezekiel 8, verse 16.

Miles: “And he brought me into the inner court of Yahuwah’s house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of Yahuwah, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of Yahuwah, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.”

Dave:
This is nothing but sun worship being passed off as the worship of Yahuwah!

Miles: Wow. Heathen practices embraced by Israelites. I’d say “unbelievable” but, sadly, it’s not.

Dave: And yet, no matter how diabolical the sin, religious leaders to this day continue to insist that Yahuwah wants His people to remain in their pews even though they admit there’s sin in the church!

Members who separate themselves are accused of “leaving the faith once delivered to the saints.” They’re told that the church, weak and sinful as she may be, is still the apple of Yah’s eye and to leave is to be lost.

Miles: At University, I took this class called Argumentation & Debate. One of the tools of convincing argument, the professor told us, was to state your opponent’s argument for him.

He said that if we’d clearly admit the arguments against our line of reasoning, we’d be in a better position to demonstrate why those arguments were wrong. It’s not convincing simply denying the claims against your position. It’s much more persuasive to put into words the opposing view and then logically demonstrate why that opposing view is wrong.

That’s what I see preachers doing when they admit there’s sin in the church but to still “stay with the church.”

Dave:
That’s exactly what they’re doing. They acknowledge that there are wrongs done in the church. There’s:

  • Abuse of authority;
  • Misappropriation of church funds;
  • Theology professors who teach error;
  • Pastors that use neuro-linguistic programming;
  • And church leaders that clearly promote an agenda of reconciliation with Rome …

“But,” they insist, “The church will go through. Stay with the church.”

Carey Nieuwhof wrote “A Response to Christians Who are Done With the Church.” It’s an excellent example of this sort of reasoning.

I’ve got a copy of it here. Would you read the highlighted section?

Miles: He says, quote:

You hear it all the time.

I’m done with church.

I don’t really need to go to church…my relationship with God is personal.

I’ve had it with organized religion.

The church is a man-made invention, not God’s idea.

I completely understand why a growing number of people are bailing on church. Even people who used to lead in the church often stop attending…

… I get it. The church is far from perfect. Life is complex. There are growing options. And the post-modern mind distrusts most things organized or institutional. But—

Dave: There’s the “but”. As bad as the church is, he says, BUT …

Miles:

But as trendy as the idea of writing off the church may be, it’s a mistake.

While writing off the church passes as sophisticated thinking, it’s actually the opposite; what if it’s a simplistic and even reductionistic line of thinking that leads nowhere constructive?

Dave: Do you see what he’s doing here? He’s saying: Yes, there are problems with the church. But don’t leave! It’s specious reasoning to leave. Stay. With. The. Church.

Miles: It’s like, by acknowledging the problems in the church, it makes it all right to stay. You hear people saying: “The church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints,” as though that somehow justifies remaining with the church.

Dave: This is wrong. Arguments like this guilt people into staying in a religious organization that the Holy Spirit is telling them to leave.

Miles: You see it all the time. Members are taught that, when they see problems in the church, when they see outright error being preached from the pulpits, they are to “sigh and cry” for the abominations in the church but they are not, under any circumstances, to leave. After all, they’re told, their church is the remnant Church. If they leave, then they are no longer part of the remnant.

Dave:
Sermons are preached, articles are written, on how to keep established members from leaving and, at the same time, increase church membership.

The reasons sound good. In his book, Church Transfusion: Changing Your Church Organically—from the Inside Out, Dave Ferguson describes a three-step process he claims is helping churches increase membership while retaining the members they already have.

Here, would you read this for us?

Miles:

1. Move toward practices that apprentice people in the ways of Jesus.

2. Move toward clearly understanding and articulating the mission of Jesus.

3. Move toward a vision of a movement to accomplish the Jesus mission.

Dave: This sounds good, but notice that the focus of each step of Ferguson’s process focuses on controlling and influencing the group, rather than on nurturing a one-on-one spiritual connection with the Saviour.

Miles: Salvation has always been an individual matter.

Dave:
Church leaders, however, focus on numbers. Naturally! They want to fulfill the gospel commission. But the need to maintain their economic support system influences their interpretation of this passage of Ezekiel.

They try to get disenchanted members to remain, telling them that Yahuwah expects them to make changes from the inside out.

Miles: Yeah. I’ve heard that a lot, actually.

Dave: When Ezekiel 8 and 9 are read in context, however, that’s not what the Bible is saying. Do you still have your Bible open to Ezekiel 8? Read verses 17 and 18, would you?

Miles:

Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.

Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

Dave:
Yahuwah’s response to the abominations in Jerusalem and the temple is clear: total destruction is called for, and the sentence is swift.

Okay, now turn the page to chapter 9 and read verses 1 and 2.

Miles:

He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand. And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

Dave: This is serious! Yah’s response to church apostasy is to call for men with slaughtering weapons.

Miles: It’s interesting, though, that even here you can see Yahuwah’s mercy. Look at the next four verses. It says:

And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side; And Yahuwah said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house. [Ezekiel 9:3-6]

So, not everyone is killed.

Dave:
Correct. Those who “sigh and cry for all the abominations done” are spared. This is the passage religious leaders use to convince church members to remain despite the Holy Spirit repeatedly urging them to leave.

Ministers acknowledge there’s sin in the church … but then they quickly add that those who receive the mark of salvation are those who sigh and cry for all the abominations done in the church.

Miles: The implication obviously being that you have to remain in the church in order to sigh and cry over the abominations committed there.

Dave: There’s nothing in this passage, however, that says Yah’s people must remain where abominations are taking place. Scripture, in fact, teaches just the opposite.

Turn to 2 Corinthians, chapter 6, and read verse 17. Every week believers are indoctrinated to “Stay with the church!” but let’s see what Scripture says. Go ahead and read it once you have it.

Miles: “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith Yahuwah, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

Dave: Heaven is commanding: “Go out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues: For her sins are come up into heaven, and Yahuwah hath remembered her iniquities.” [Revelation 18:4]

This command is to all believers of all faith communities. Don’t assume your church, or denomination, or organization is exempt. It’s not. Every single one of them has either refused to give up erroneous traditions, or rejected advancing light.

Miles: Are there any other passages of Scripture that teach that believers are to leave organizations that are in apostasy?

Dave: Yes. The story of Lot teaches this.

Miles: What do you mean? How?

Dave:
Yahuwah had the power to preserve Lot even in Sodom. But He didn’t. Instead, He sent angels to drag the reluctant Lot and his family out and then, what did he say?

Miles: Go! Get out! Scram.

Dave: “Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.” [Genesis 19:17]

Lot was saved out of Sodom, not in it.

Miles: That’s a really key distinction. When you put it like that, Noah was saved out of the wicked, antediluvian world. Not in it.

Dave:
Turn to 2 Peter, chapter 2, and read verses 4 to 9. Peter understood this concept, too. What does it say?

Miles:

For if Yahuwah spared not … the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the wicked;

And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live wickedly;

And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

Yahuwah knoweth how to deliver the reverent out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished.

Dave: This is an interesting passage. It says Lot was “righteous” and that he sighed and cried for the abominations done in the evil cities of the plain.

And yet, at the prayer of Abram, angels were sent to deliver the message that he was to leave immediately. This is what Heaven expects the faithful to do, not remain in the church and, by their presence, give silent support to the apostasy happening within the church.

Miles: When you bring that element into it, that makes leaving the churches a solemn responsibility. Because it’s true: our presence does give silent support to what’s happening within the church.

All right, stay tuned. Daily Mailbag is up next.

Time is a gift! One that is passing quickly. And yet, the nearer we get to the end, the more and more ways Satan seeks to divert attention from what really matters.

Satan always seeks to corrupt Heaven’s gifts and the gift of time is no different. Technology that can be used for spreading the gospel, too often becomes nothing more than a gigantic waste of time. * * *Daily Mailbag (Miles & Dave)

Miles: Today’s question from our Daily Mailbag is a first. It’s coming from Ayala in Holon, Israel.

Dave:
Hey, did you know that Israeli bank notes have Braille on them? So blind people can identify them as well.

Miles: That’s great! Makes you wonder why more countries don’t do that.

Anyway, Ayala writes: “Could you please explain the difference between Godly sorrow and worldly sorrow? Why does the Bible differentiate between the two? What’s the difference?”

Dave: That’s an interesting question. Worldly sorrow is pretty straightforward. We’ve all experienced it. There’s, of course, sorrow in suffering. The daily news is full of reports of natural disasters, terrorist attacks, accidents … the list goes on and on.

Another aspect of worldly sorrow is a self-centered version of sorrow for sin.

Miles: What do you mean? Sorrow for sin is a good thing.

Dave:
Sure! But a self-centered version of “sorrow for sin” is nothing more than being sorry you got caught.

Miles laughs: Yeah. I think we all learn that at a young age. And it teaches us to either obey Mummy and Daddy … or be sneakier to make sure we don’t get caught next time!

Dave chuckles: Exactly. I know I learned that quite young as did, I suspect, my own kids.

Godly sorrow, however, is different. Godly sorrow is actually a gift from Yahuwah and it leads to repentance. This is what distinguishes it from worldly sorrow.

Turn to 2 Corinthians, chapter 7, and read verses 9 to 11. Here, Paul is describing the transformation that takes place when a person has godly sorrow.

You have it? Go ahead.

Miles:

I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

Dave:
A true, godly sorrow, will always lead to repentance. Repentance itself is a gift! As sinners, our hearts are hardened. But Yahuwah, as our Creator, understands the effect sin has on us. He provides everything we need, including godly sorrow for sin, and true repentance.

There’s a curious little phrase in 2 Timothy. Why don’t you turn there, to 2 Timothy, chapter 2, and let’s take a look at it. It’s easy to miss, but listen for it. It reveals that repentance, too, is a gift. When you’ve got it, go ahead and read verses 23 through 26.

Miles:

Avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of Yahuwah must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if Yah perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

Dave: Did you catch that? He said that Yah grants, or gives, repentance so that we may know the truth, come to our senses, and escape the devil’s snare.

Miles: It’s all a gift! Not a works trip.

Dave:
It’s good to be sorry when we do something wrong. That’s our conscience convicting us! But we need to be more than sorry. You can be sorry, and yet do something over, and over, and over again. We need to actually be sorrowful to the extent that we go to Yah for help so that, by Yah’s strength, we’ll stop doing whatever is wrong.

Miles: John 3:16 says that Yah so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should be saved.

Dave: Yes, but the “whosoever” don’t get saved unless they have received the godly sorrow that leads to repentance from sin. Otherwise, it’s just the same wordly sorrow Judas expressed for betraying the Saviour.

Miles: Hm! Sorry for getting caught and fear of just punishment.

Dave:
Exactly. Again, its not legalism. It’s all a gift. But they are spiritual gifts that must be received and accepted in order to affect a change in the life. Could you please read John 6:44 really quickly for us?

Miles: Sure! Uh … it says: “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Dave: The Father draws us through gifting us with a godly sorrow for sin. Then, as we respond to that, He gifts us with repentance so that we can turn away from the sin and, through His strength, live godly lives in Christ Yahushua.

Miles: Hmm. That’s beautiful. It really is.

Okay. Next question. This is from … well, there’s no name. Anonymous in Turkmenistan writes: “Dear Brothers in Yahushua, being a Christian in our country is very challenging and impacts our lives in many areas. Right now, our little group of believers is facing some serious difficulties. Are there any promises in particular you could share with us as we face the days ahead?”

Dave:
Thank you for writing. First, let me say that I speak for all of us at WLC that we will be praying for you and your situation. As for promises, yes! There are so many, and while I do not know the particulars of your situation, there are promises broad enough to fit every situation.

Let’s start with Peter. Would you turn to 2 Peter, chapter one, and read verses two through four for us?

Miles: All right. It says: “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of Yah and of Yahushua our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises.”

Dave: This is how we are to overcome in every situation. Through every trial, Yah gives strength. In suffering, He comforts.

Now, let’s read Isaiah, chapter 40, verses 28 through 30. Again, that’s Isaiah 40, verses 28 to 30.

Miles:

Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting Eloah, Yahuwah,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait on Yahuwah
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Dave: Because Yahuwah is our Creator, He knows our strengths and weaknesses. He knows just how much we can handle and what’s our breaking point. He is there to give us just the amount of strength and endurance, comforting, or wisdom we need for any given situation.

Miles: One passage that has really strengthened me during difficult times is Psalm 34, verses 15, 17 and 18. Give me just a second to turn there … Okay. It says:

The eyes of Yahuwah are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The righteous cry, and Yahuwah heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. Yahuwah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Dave: Whether our troubles are addiction to sin, or imprisonment by godless authorities and a thousand other possibilities in between, we can trust the Father.

We don’t have time to quote from it, but if anyone wants to look it up for themselves, Psalm 37 is full of very comforting, incredibly powerful promises.

In closing, I want to read one final promise. It’s found in Philippians chapter 4, verse 19. It says: “And my Eloah shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Yahushua.”

Miles: We can trust the Father to keep His promises. He stands back of every promise He has ever made.

We’ve got time for one more quick question. Balot in Manila, in the Philippines asks: “You frequently refer to videos on YouTube. Could you please tell me what your YouTube channel is called?”

Dave: We actually have 32 different YouTube channels because we produce videos in 32 different languages. Our original channel, in English, is simply called WLC Videos. Just put “WLC Videos” in the search bar on YouTube.

But we also have channels in Afrikaans, Arabic, Bahasa, Bemba, Bulgarian, two forms of Chinese—traditional and simplified, Chitonga, Czech, Dutch, English, Fijian, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Korean, Maori, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Shona, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Tagalog, Telegu, Ukranian, and Vietnamese.

So if, for example, you’re listening in Spanish, but your native language is Portuguese, just go to WLC videos on YouTube. Under the WLC logo on the left, you’ll see a number of hyperlinks across the screen. It will say: Home, Videos, Playlists, Community, Channels, and About.

Just click on Channels to access videos in your preferred language.

Miles: And, I would just add, if you are fluent in another language and have been blessed by the messages on WLC Radio or our website, and would like to cooperate with us in spreading truth, let us know! We’re always looking for more people who are competent to translate into still more languages.

* * *Daily Promise:

Hello! This is Elise O’Brien with your Daily Promise from Yah’s Word.

During the dreadful days of the Second World War, a father, holding his little boy by the hand, dashed out of a building that had just been struck by a bomb. In the front yard was a hole made by another shell.

The man knew that if they were to have any chance of surviving, they had to get under shelter as quickly as possible. He jumped down into the hole, turned, and held up his arms for his son.

“Jump!” He told his little boy.

The young child was terrified. “I can’t see you!” He wailed.

Immediately, the reassuring words came: “But I can see you. Now, jump!”

The boy did, trusting his daddy to catch him.

Donner Atwood wisely observed, quote: “The Christian faith enables us to face life or meet death, not because we can see, but with the certainty that we are seen; not that we know all the answers, but that we are known.” Unquote.

Psalm 37, verses 23 to 25 says: “The steps of a good man are ordered by Yahuwah: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for Yahuwah upholdeth him with his hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”

At some point in each of our lives, every one of us will be brought to the point of not knowing what to do. We can’t turn back, but we can’t see the way clearly before us, either. When that happens, you don’t have to fear.

Jeremiah 29, verses 11 to 13 says: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahuwah, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”

You may not see the future, but you don’t need to! Yah does and He will keep you safe.

Patrick Overton said, quote: “When you come to the edge of all the light you have, and must take a step into the darkness of the unknown, believe that one of two things will happen. Either there will be something solid for you to stand on – or you will be taught how to fly.”

We have been given great and precious promises. Go, and start claiming!

* * *Part 3: (Miles & Dave)

Miles: I know we’re getting close to running out of time, but I’ve got a question. Ezekiel’s vision showed people in the city sighing and crying. Would this imply, then, that believers are to stay in the church?

Dave:
I’m glad you brought this up. Certainly, this is what pastors teach. They say that the very act of sighing and crying proves they are the remnant and must therefore stay with the “remnant church.” Any change, they say, can only be brought about from members within the church.

But this is wrong! Sighing and crying by itself proves nothing. The Pharisees of Yahushua’s day were great believers in “sighing and crying,” fasting, and doing any number of outward demonstrations to “prove” their holiness.

Miles: Well, that’s true. I’m remembering Yahushua’s words in Matthew 6 verse 7 where He said, quote: “When you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.”

Dave: Then, you’ve got the Laodiceans. Like the Pharisees, they’re great sighers and criers. By sighing and crying over the sins of others, they prove to themselves that they are not Laodicean. After all, they have the spiritual discernment to recognize that there is something to sigh and cry about! They aren’t blind!

Miles: It’s really sanctimonious, isn’t it?

I’ll bewail your sins, and by having sorrow over your sins, prove how holy I am.

Dave: Yeah. It can be a way of exempting yourself and saying the messages to repent and flee the churches aren’t for you.

It’s a really subtle delusion. The thing is, these sighers and criers are not the ones who will receive the mark by the man with the writer’s inkhorn.

Miles: What do you mean?

Dave:
People who make a show of bemoaning the apostasy in the church, but who would rather die than actually leave the church, will not be sealed. Satan uses these pretenders to discourage others from pressing forward with their convictions. They silence the voice of the Holy Spirit urging the sincere-hearted to flee.

By contrast, the sincere who sigh and cry: it’s not some Laodicean charade to prove to themselves and others how devout they are. They’re genuinely heartsick over what they see happening and when they are convicted to leave the church, they do!

Miles: What about people who still go to church, who haven’t heard the message to leave?

Dave: Yah won’t reject anyone whose heart wants to follow, even if they haven’t yet learned all present truth. Their sincere sorrow reveals their hearts are sensitive to His drawing because recognizing the apostasy in the church is the first step to eventually leaving the church.

Miles: OK. They just haven’t arrived at the point of understanding that they can and should leave.

Dave:
Right. But Yahuwah reads their hearts and marks them as His anyway.

The mark itself is further evidence that they’d eventually leave if they had time to develop a more mature understanding.

The mark is the Spirit of Yah which leads into truth. Yahushua explained that the work of the Holy Spirit is to convict of sin and to lead into more truth! That’s what He said in John 16.

Miles: Oh, yeah! He said it was to their advantage for Him to leave so He could then send the Comforter who would “convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.” [John 16:8]

Dave: This is the key to understanding how some—even at this late date—can still be in the church, sighing and crying, and yet receive the mark of salvation. The sincere-hearted that are crying over the abominations done in the church do so from a true understanding of the sinfulness of sin.

Miles: Hmm. Yeah, that knowledge only comes from the Holy Spirit.

Dave: Would you read Ephesians 4, verse 30? Scripture always equates being sealed with being filled with the Holy Spirit.

Miles: It says, quote: “Grieve not the holy Spirit of Yahuwah, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”

Dave: Now read 2 Corinthians 1, verses 21 to 22.

Miles: “Now he which stablisheth us with you in Yahushua, and hath anointed us, is Yahuwah; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.”

Dave:
We’re being told to get out. We’re not being called upon to judge those who remain. Yahuwah knows each heart; we don’t. Yah has the wisdom to lead each one individually; we don’t. Each of us must respond to the leading of the Holy Spirit in our own hearts.

Miles: And, we can trust He’ll lead everyone else who responds, in the manner and at the time that’s best for the individual.

Dave: Right! Get yourself out. Pray for those who remain. But trust the Father to know which hearts haven’t yet been hardened against His drawing Spirit. Everyone who responds to the Holy Spirit will receive the mark that sets him or her apart.

Miles: I want to interject one point here: the fact that some may not yet have reached the point where they can comprehend the light leading them out of the churches does not excuse the rest of us from leaving the fallen churches.

Dave:
Absolutely. It’s our duty to get out. Now. Just like the angels hurried Lot out of Sodom, they’re also hurrying the faithful out of all organizations and denominations. There are no exceptions.

Yes! Sigh and cry for the abominations done in the church. But do it from outside the church. By your example of obedience, show others that it’s safe to follow the Lamb out of organized religions.

Miles: That’s a good reminder: salvation is through faith in Yahushua, not through church membership.

Dave: The reason this is so important and why I feel I can’t emphasize this enough, is that Satan is the master puppeteer, pulling the strings, and influencing the leaders who, in turn, guide the people.

He wants people in the churches, sitting in the pews, being spoon-fed his twisted doctrines. This is how he controls people. This how he sets them up, spiritually, to accept his delusions.

Our only safety is in getting out from under the spiritual “authority” of other humans and going to Yah for ourselves, learning the truth for ourselves, directly from Him. And when a pastor’s paycheck is connected to his conformity to the stated doctrines of the organization that employs him, don’t be running to him to tell you what is truth. Go to Yah for yourself.

Miles: It’s true. Listen, folks, the only way we can be safe from the delusions Satan has prepared, is if we step out from under the influence of these fallen organizations.

Get out now. Don’t stay where you can be deceived. Make Yahuwah your teacher. You can trust Him to guide you all the way.
