Program 82: Learn the identity of the “hidden god”!

The pagan god hiding behind most modern days of worship is none other than the vile and violent god, Saturn.

Welcome to WLC Radio, a subsidiary of World’s Last Chance Ministries, an online ministry dedicated to learning how to live in constant readiness for the Savior's return.

For two thousand years, believers of every generation have longed to be the last generation. Contrary to popular belief, though, Christ did not give believers “signs of the times” to watch for. Instead, he repeatedly warned that his coming would take even the faithful by surprise. Yahushua urgently warned believers to be ready because, he said, “The Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” [Matthew 24:44]

* * *Part 1: (Miles & Dave)

Miles Robey: Greetings! And a very warm welcome to today’s program. I’m your host, Miles Robey, and with me is Dave Wright.

Dave Wright: Hello! Thank you for making us a part of your day. If you’ve tuned in before, you know that at WLC, we take seriously the Bible’s invitation to, as it says: “Call upon the name of the Lord.”

But, as we all know, “lord” is simply a generic title. It’s not the Father’s actual, personal name.

Miles: In fact, it’s rather ironic, but the very verses that tell us to “Call upon the name of the Lord,” don’t actually say “the Lord.” They use His name, instead, which is Yahuwah.

Dave: Or Yah. There are a couple of verses that use the shortened version as well. The beautiful thing we’ve learned, and the reason why we make a point of using His actual name, is that the divine name itself is a promise! It comes from a Hebrew verb-of-being.

Now, for those of you who hated grammar in school, verbs-of-being are the words that describe a condition of existence, such as: am, is, are, was, were, be, being, been—

Miles: –Shall have been, will have been being …

Dave: Every variation of a verb of being can be used as the divine name, and every single one is a promise that the Father will BE everything you need, not only physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, too. So, that is why, we do not use the generic titles on WLC. In fact, when reading quotes from authors where they are clearly referring to the Father or the son, we take the liberty of replacing the titles with the actual names.

Miles: The son’s name is a promise, too. The Saviour’s name is Yahushua and means “Yahuwah saves.”

Dave: I like how you can hear the Father’s name in the name of the Son: Yahuwah. Yahushua. It’s very meaningful.

Miles: So, Dave, tell me: have you heard of the dangers of steganography?

Dave: Uh … You mean, writing in some abbreviated shorthand version? I think that’s stenography.

Miles: You’re right. That is. Steganography, on the other hand, is different. While cryptology is concerned with protecting the contents of a message, steganography is about concealing the fact that a secret message is being sent at all. It hides the message, but it also hides the fact that there is a message.

Dave: Soooo … spy craft, in other words. James Bond and all that.

Miles: Exactly: everything from “old school” invisible ink to concealing information on computer files all falls under the category of steganography.

Dave: I remember reading that during World War II, one way messages were smuggled into prisoner-of-war camps was by typing messages onto thin onion skin and then hiding the onion skin in jars of peanut butter that were delivered in Red Cross food parcels to prisoners.

Miles: That would work! Yanks and their peanut butter. I think they were the only ones at the time that could stomach the stuff. But, yeah. That’s steganography. It’s a way of hiding something in plain sight.

Anyway, recently, we had a program in which we talked about the evidence of worship on Saturn’s day in Scripture. Saturday is a deception that is hiding in plain sight. People assume that because it is the seventh-day of the week, it must be the original Bible Sabbath.

Dave: And the fact that the Jews worship then just seems to prove it.

Miles: And that apparent “proof” is used to support the belief that Sunday is the day of Yahushua’s resurrection.

Dave: Right.

Miles: But, again, these are deceptions hiding in plain sight! Sunday is actually not the day on which Yahushua was resurrected, and today’s Saturday is not the original Sabbath of Scripture.

What I was hoping you could share with us today is an explanation of the origins of Saturday. Just where did it come from?

Dave: Today’s Saturday was never a part of the Biblical week. It actually comes from the pagan, planetary week. Most languages no longer refer to it by its original planetary designation of Saturn’s day, but that’s where it entered the modern week: from the pagan, planetary week. Each day of the week was dedicated to a particular god.

Miles: I remember in our other program, you shared a quote about prayers to the gods on their days?

Dave: Yes. Robert Odom, in his book, Sunday in Roman Paganism, says: “Prayer to the planets on their respective days was a part of the worship of the heavenly bodies.”

The origins of Saturn, however, stretch back much further than the acceptance of the planetary week into the Julian calendar. The origins of Saturn and Saturday have been hidden. If Christians today knew the origins of Saturn and Saturn’s day, they certainly wouldn’t accept Saturday as the Biblical Sabbath nor base their celebration of Yahushua’s resurrection off of Sunday, the day of the Sun.

Saturn has, in a very real sense, been the hidden god behind both Saturday and Sunday.

Miles: So, where did this lie originate?

Dave: The original Saturn can be traced back to Nimrod, the greatest of the early, post-flood apostates. Various ancient sources suggest that Shem was actually the one responsible for slaying Nimrod.

Miles: That would have a profound impact! As I recall, Nimrod was known for his strength.

Dave:
Oh, yeah! Not only his strength, but his size as well. People were shocked that someone such as Nimrod could be killed. The result was that it drove idolatry underground.

Alexander Hislop, in his well-researched book, The Two Babylons, explained it best. Would you read here where it’s marked? It’s important because it provides a glimpse into how idolatry spread after the flood.

Miles: It says:

The terror of an execution, inflicted on one so mighty as Nimrod, made it needful that, for some time to come at least, the extreme of caution should be used. In these circumstances, then, began, . . . that system of “Mystery,” which, having Babylon for its centre, has spread over the world. In these Mysteries, under the seal of secrecy and the sanction of an oath, and by means of all the fertile resources of magic, men were gradually led back to all the idolatry that had been publicly suppressed, while new features were added to that idolatry that made it still more blasphemous than before.

Dave: After the flood, apostasy and rebellion quickly resurfaced. Shem actually outlived Abraham, so you can see how quickly it rose again.

The execution of Nimrod just sent paganism underground. When it resurfaced, it was stronger than ever before, contaminating every culture that it touched.

Miles: I think anyone who has studied early Church history will agree that apostolic, primitive godliness was lost when paganism was tolerated by the early church.

Dave:
This new Christianity became amalgamated with beliefs brought down from ancient Babylon. Hardly anyone has recognized it, but lying at its heart was Saturn. It was this amalgamation of Christianity with ancient Babylonian beliefs descended from Nimrod that began to gain ascendency over the more traditional forms of paganism.

Miles: When, precisely, did this happen?

Dave: Well, it was a process that spanned several centuries, but if you were going to pinpoint a century, it would be the fourth century, just as the capital of the Roman Empire was moved from Rome to Constantinople. This is where it gets really interesting.

The bishop of Rome didn’t want to lose his power and influence simply because the civil government moved to Constantinople, so he figured out a way to retain his influence over the people. Again, I’m going to have you just read it from Hislop. He says it so well. Go ahead and read here. Page 207.

Miles:

Very early, indeed, did the bishops of Rome show a proud and ambitions spirit; but, for the first three centuries, their claim for superior honour was founded simply on the dignity of their see, as being that of the imperial city, the capital of the Roman world.

When, however, the seat of empire was removed to the East, and Constantinople threatened to eclipse Rome, some new ground for maintaining the dignity of the Bishop of Rome must be sought. That new ground was found when, about 378, the Pope fell heir to the keys that were the symbols of two well-known Pagan divinities at Rome. Janus bore a key, and Cybele bore a key; and these are the two keys that the Pope emblazons on his arms as the ensigns of his spiritual authority.

Unquote. Interesting! He’s talking about the keys of Peter here, right?

Dave:
Yes. These two “keys” originated in paganism and yet every single pope since 1458 has included them in his coat of arms.

See, by presenting himself to the pagans as the representative of Janus and Cybele, the pope became the rightful heir to their “keys.”

Miles: So, he’d have a position of power among them.

Dave: Right. All he had to do next was simply convince the Christians that he was the rightful successor of Peter the apostle, and thus the possessor of his keys, and, voilà! He has power and influence over both the pagans and the Christians.

Miles: Brilliant. Diabolical, but brilliant.

Dave: It was! So, even though the influence of Rome as a city was less, the pope’s position as Bishop of Rome was even more firmly established than ever.

Okay. Keep reading.

Miles: Uhh …

On this policy it is evident he acted. Some time was allowed to pass away, and then, when the secret working of the Mystery of iniquity had prepared the way for it, for the first time did the Pope publicly assert his preeminence, as founded on the keys given to Peter. About 378 was he raised to the position which gave him, in Pagan estimation, the power of the keys referred to. In 431, and not before, did he publicly lay claim to the possession of Peter’s keys.

Dave: This is how Christianity became entwined with paganism. The pope managed to secure for himself the preeminent position of power as the head of both the Christian Church and the pagan religion.

Miles: You can see how Christians would revere the pope, the “Bishop of Rome,” if they were told that his authority had been inherited directly from the Apostle Peter. But how did he get the pagans to accept that? I mean, he’s got the key of Janus, and the key of Cybele. How was he able to convince the pagans that the “keys of Peter” were one and the same with those of Janus and Cybele?

Dave:
Actually, the pagans had no problem being told that these were the “keys of Peter.” That was a phrase understood and used by the pagans who had been initiated into the Chaldean Mysteries.

Believe it or not, there was a “Peter” in Rome. He held the highest position in the pagan priesthood!

Miles: No way! The pagans had a “Peter,” too?

Dave: They did. He was the high priest who explained the mysteries to the initiated. He was sometimes referred to as the Hierophant, which was a Greek term. However, the real language of the mysteries was primitive Chaldee. And in that language, his title, when pronounced without the points, was “Peter.” Or, in other words, the interpreter.

Miles: Huh! So, by telling everyone he had the keys of Peter, the pope really did unite Christianity and the Babylonian mystery religions.

Dave:
He did. The high priest of the pagan mysteries, the Grand Interpreter who taught the hidden secrets to the highest levels of the initiates would, of course, own the keys of Janus and Cybele, because he was the one who explained and revealed the “mysteries”!

But there’s more. Not only were the pagans used to hearing of the “keys of Peter,” the interpreter of their mystery religions, but the initiated identified them as the keys of a Peter identified with Rome! Even in countries long distances from each other, the initiated knew about the “keys of Peter” in Rome!

Miles: There’s no way the pope would pass up a title like that. It was too valuable. It didn’t just conjoin paganism with Christianity, but it put him squarely at the top of both!

Dave: Exactly. So, by a mere clever twist of words, the pope was presented to Christians as the representative of Peter the apostle, while to the initiated pagans, he was the representative of Peter, the interpreter of their mysteries.

Miles: Incredible.

Okay. We’re going to take a quick break and when we return, I’d like to hear about how the pope got his title. That had to appeal to both Christians and pagans, too, didn’t it?

Dave:
It did.

Miles:
All right! We’ll be right back.

* * *Part 2: (Miles & Dave)

Miles: The pope has a very descriptive title. The word “catholic” means “universal.” As the head of the Catholic Church, he is also the head of the Roman Catholic Church. But how does this link to the Babylonian mysteries and, circling back around, what does this have to do with Saturn?

Dave:
Saturn is the “hidden” god. That’s his identity in the Babylonian/Chaldean mysteries. When the pope claimed to inherit the keys of Janus and Cybele, he became the sole legitimate head of the Babylonian mysteries! That’s the connection that we, as Christians, have missed.

Miles: And yet, isn’t it interesting, that the very name of this amalgamated system of religion as given in the Bible is “Mystery Babylon.” That’s what the Bible calls it!

Now, in our last segment, you said these mysteries started with Nimrod and you traced the worship of Saturn back to Nimrod. What more can you tell us about that? I’m not clear on this connection.

Dave: I’m glad you asked. “Saturn” and “Mystery” are, interestingly enough, both Chaldean words. They’re correlative terms.

Miles: What do you mean?

Dave:
Well, just as “mystery” indicates the hidden system, “Saturn” signifies the hidden god. To the initiates, the god was revealed as Saturn. To everyone else, he was hidden. In the Chaldean mysteries, Nimrod was known as … Saturn.

Miles: Seriously?

Dave: Yes. Nimrod was the source, as we said in our last segment, of all the post-flood apostasy and rebellion that disseminated across the earth in the first centuries following the flood.

Here’s something else that’s interesting. You know how Roman numerals are also letters.

Miles: Right. The letter V has the numerical value of 5; the letter X, the numerical value of 10.

Dave: The letter L is the same as the number 50, and so on and so forth up to the letter M, which has a numerical value of 1000.

What most people don’t know is that Chaldean characters also had numerical value. The name, Saturn, in Chaldee is pronounced Satūr. However, as any one who has ever studied Chaldee will tell you, it was written with just four letters.

Now, grab a piece of paper and a pen. I want you to write this down. I’m going to give you the numerical value of Saturn in Chaldee. Ready?

Miles: Yep!

Dave: Okay:

S = 60

T = 400

U = 6

R = 200

Now. Add those numbers together, and what do you get? This is the number for Saturn, the “hidden” god.

Miles: Four hundred plus two hundred is six hundred. Sixty plus six is sixty-six.

Whoa! Six hundred and sixty-six!

I remember how surprised I was when I learned that the original name of Rome itself was Saturnia, or, “the city of Saturn.” The area has even been referred to as “the Saturnian land.”

Dave: The point I want to make, the deeply buried secret of the Babylonian mysteries is that all worship on a counterfeit calendar is actually directed to the hidden god, Saturn, who was originally the great apostate: Nimrod.

Now, the external parade of rites and ceremonies is primarily preformed on Sunday, but the hidden god at the root of it all remains Saturn.

Miles: How can the pope be head of those who worship on Saturday? Obviously, that’s not the Bible Sabbath, but is there a modern connection between the pope, ruling from the city of Saturn, head of the mystery religions, representing the hidden god, and those who worship on the modern Saturday?

Dave: Yes! I’m glad you asked. The modern calendar was devised by a Jesuit astronomer, Christopher Clavius, for pope Gregory the thirteenth. That’s where we get the name of the calendar from: it’s the Gregorian calendar. As head of the calendar, the pope is the chief authority over both days of worship.

To the uninitiated, this is carried over in practice by the principle that one may attend Sunday mass on Saturday after 4 p.m. and have it count as the weekend mass.

But there’s still one final mystery I want to talk about. What is the identity of the ultimate “hidden god”? Whom did Nimrod represent?

The apostle Paul gives us the answer. Would you please turn to 1 Corinthians 10, and read verse 20?

Miles: “But I say, that the things which the Gentiles [pagans] sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to Yah: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.”

Dave: The power that inspired Nimrod and all of his worshippers is none other than that of Satan, the original apostate.

You’re going to like this next part. You and your love of words. I want to show you that there is a direct connection between Saturn and Satan. I’d like you to read this quote. It’s also from Hislop, but drawing on information discovered by Frederick Walpole in his trips to the Middle East.

Miles: Here?

Dave: No, just … yeah, right there. Go ahead.

Miles:

Now, on inquiry, it will actually be found, that while Saturn was the name of the visible head, Teitan was the name of the invisible head of the beast. Teitan is just the Chaldean form of Sheitan, the very name by which Satan has been called from time immemorial by the Devil-worshippers of Kurdistan; and from Armenia or Kurdistan, this Devil-worship embodied in the Chaldean Mysteries came westward to Asia Minor, and thence to Etruria and Rome. It is undeniable . . . that Teitan, in Pagan belief, was identical with the Dragon, or Satan.

Dave: It may be difficult for us today to see the connection between “Satan” and “Teitan.” However, there is an etymological link there. Ancient Chaldee frequently transformed Sh or S into T.

Miles: Oh, that’s right! I hadn’t thought about that in a while. For example, in Hebrew you’ve got a “Shekel.” In Chaldee, it becomes “Tekel.” In Hebrew, you have “Shabar” which means “to break.” The same word in Chaldee is “Tabar.”

Dave: And there’s more. “Seraphim” in Hebrew is “Teraphim” in Chaldee.

Miles: You can even find such sound substitutions in the middle of a word. For example, the Hebrew word “Asar” is “Atar” in Chaldee.

Dave: You take away all of the deceptions, the symbols, the pagan, and so-called “Christian” names and what remains at the core is the identity of the hidden god. And that god, hidden behind all ancient and modern false religion is none other than Satan.

Miles: This whole deception, having a hidden god lurking behind all these layers of lies, reminds me of how Yahushua described Satan in John 8, verse 44. Speaking to the Pharisees, He said, quote: “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

Dave: I just want to say, this is not a denunciation against Roman Catholics. I want to be clear on that. I believe many of them are very sincere and doing the best they can to live up to all the light available to them.

Miles: Who, outside of maybe some secret societies, knows anything about the Babylonian/Chaldean mysteries anymore? After so many centuries, we’ve all just grown up honoring Saturn and not even realized we were doing it!

Dave: Most people are ignorant of the significance of this, but modern initiates know the truth: all who worship on Saturn’s day are ignorantly honoring Saturn/Sheitan/Satan.

This is why, in Scripture, the word “Babylon” is a symbol of confusion and false religion.

Miles: “Babylon” is a perfect symbol for false religion. What’s interesting, though, is that most scholars agree that the name actuallymeant “Gateway of the gods.”

Dave: That is interesting. There’s so much we’ve been ignorant about! The day on which we worship, the day we “celebrate,” honors the god of that day.

Miles: So, could you say that worship by a counterfeit calendar becomes a gateway to false gods? Demons?

Dave: Absolutely! Yahushua Himself, in Matthew 12, verse 8, acknowledged this principle when He said, “For the Son of man is Lord [or Master] even of the Sabbath day.”

The lord of Sunday is Solis Invicti or, “the invincible sun”. The lord of Saturday is Saturn/Sheitan/Satan. Only the Creator is the true Lord, the Eloah, of the actual Sabbath of Scripture.

Miles: Which, of course, can’t be found on the pope’s solar calendar.

Dave:
Yeah! Even his calendar is pagan! It’s a purely solar calendar, not the luni-solar calendar of Scripture. To honor the correct deity, it’s important to worship on his day, calculated by his calendar.

When you lay aside your work and observe a holy day of rest, if you even set it aside as a celebration of the resurrection, you are, by that act, acknowledging allegiance to the divinity that lays claim to that day. I know this is a new concept to most of us, but it’s a concept that has been covered up and hidden, just as the Biblical calendar and the true Sabbath, and the actual day of the resurrection, has been covered up and hidden.

Miles: I think it’s important to bring out here that worship on Sunday is not the lesser of the two evils. Worship on Saturday honors the hidden god, Saturn/Sheitan/Satan. However, these two worship days are inseparably bound. Worship on Sunday, the “first” day of the modern week, perpetuates the lie that Saturday, the “seventh” day of the modern week, must be the true Sabbath. They’re two lies that prop each other up.

Dave: When you calculate your day of worship by the pagan-papal, solar calendar, you are—maybe ignorantly, but you still are—participating to a greater or lesser degree in the ancient Babylonian mysteries. These are the very same mysteries that assumed a Christian disguise back in the fourth century of our common era. These are the same mysteries that honored Nimrod and which, by extension, honor Satan.

Miles: I’ve noticed that there is a tendency among both Sunday-celebrating Protestants and Saturday Sabbatarians to feel somewhat morally superior to Roman Catholics. Sir George Sinclair of Ulbster said once, quote: “Romanism is a refined system of Christianised heathenism, and chiefly differs from its prototype in being more treacherous, more cruel, more dangerous, more intolerant.” Unquote.

And yet, this applies to all of Christendom. Everyone who has united in using the counterfeit calendar of the Babylonian/Roman mysteries.

Dave:
The battle over worship began when Lucifer first tried to usurp the homage due to the Creator.

Miles: I remember what the angel told Daniel in Daniel, chapter 12, verse 4. He said: “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”

Knowledge is being increased! In Acts 17, verse 30, in his sermon on Mars Hill, Paul explained to the Athenians that, once we have been given greater light, we become responsible for that light. He said, “And the times of this ignorance Yah winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.”

I see that as what’s happening now. The hidden god, Satan, is being exposed as the entity behind all false worship. We’re no longer ignorant. Now, we’re responsible for that truth.

Thanks, Dave. A very interesting discussion today. Who knew that Saturn was so predominant in all this false worship?

Stay tuned, folks! We’ll be taking questions from our Daily Mailbag when we return. Be right back!

* * *Daily Mailbag (Miles & Dave)

Miles: All right! Let’s see what we’ve got from our Daily Mailbag …

Maud in Bruges, Belgium, has sent us a question. Hey! Did you know that Bruges is home to the French Fry Museum?

Dave laughs:
Another factoid for your Useless But Fascinating Facts book?

Miles: What can I say? Some things just stick in my brain. Anyway! Let’s get to Maud’s question. She writes: “My cousin is an avowed atheist. Her favorite argument against Christianity is the bad things that, undeniably, do happen. The other day she asked me: ‘If God really exists, why doesn’t He stop natural disasters? Why doesn’t he keep innocent people from being hurt by bad people? Either He can’t or He won’t. Which is it?’

“I didn’t know how to answer her. What are your thoughts on this? Any suggestions on what I can say?”

Dave: It’s a good idea to know how to answer such questions because it’s an argument you hear frequently from nonbelievers. They’ll say: “If God is so powerful, why doesn’t He cure cancer, or stop natural disasters? If He can’t,” they say, “Then obviously He’s not God. But if He can but chooses not to, He’s sadistic.”

Miles: Yeah, I’ve heard those same arguments. I know they’re not true, but coming up with a clear, logical way to refute them isn’t easy. Even believers can be quick to blame the Father when things go badly but forget to thank Him for what goes well.

Dave:
It’s sin and Satan—as well as mankind—that’s responsible for the suffering in the world. This is why the Father warned Adam and Eve of the dangers of disobedience! He wanted to preserve them safe from the suffering that living in a sinful world always brings.

  • Where was Yah when over fifteen thousand lives were lost in March of 2011, when a tsunami swept the Japanese coast?
  • Where was Yah in April and May of 2015, when a heat wave killed over 2,000 individuals in India?
  • Where was Yah in July of 2018, when wildfires in Greece took dozens of lives? It’s second only to the wildfires that killed hundreds in Australia in 2009.

I’ll tell you where He was! He was in the same place He was when His own son suffered and died: right beside the individual, loving and suffering along with him.

Miles: That’s true. Hebrews 4:15 says: “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities.” In other words, the Father literally feels everything we feel.

Dave: The cross reveals that Yahuwah allows suffering for our good. He never allows unnecessary suffering, but only that which can be turned for our eternal good.

We can’t blame the Father for the suffering in the world today when it’s our own sins that have made this a sinful environment that’s full of suffering!

Miles: How does He do that? In what way can Yah use suffering for our own good?

Dave:
Life’s trials are to turn us to our Maker. They aren’t intended to destroy us. They’re meant to soften our hearts, make us wake up and evaluate where we’re headed, and, hopefully turn to the Father for help, forgiveness, and protection.

Miles: That reminds me of a quote I read recently in a book on the life of Christ.

I love contemplating and meditating on Yahushua’s life: the things he did, and said. When you stop and remember that he was revealing what the Father would be like if He were human, it’s really powerful. Anyway, there’s a quote in there I think is really encouraging. It says, quote:

Yahuwah never leads His children otherwise than they would choose to be led, if they could see the end from the beginning, and discern the glory of the purpose which they are fulfilling as co-workers with Him. Not Enoch, . . . not Elijah, who ascended in a chariot of fire, was greater or more honored than John the Baptist, who perished alone in the dungeon. … Of all the gifts that Heaven can bestow upon men, fellowship with Christ in His sufferings is the most weighty trust and the highest honor.

Dave:
That’s beautiful, and it’s true, too. Yahuwah will only lead us as we would choose to be led for ourselves if we could see the future as He can. That’s a promise, friends!

But even when we are led through trials, it’s always either directly for our good, or, by Yah’s omnipotent power, can be turned for our good. It’s not Yah’s will that an innocent child falls into a swimming pool and is drowned. It’s not His will that a father is killed in an accident and the family is left destitute. But for all who trust in Him, He can bring good out of trials.

Miles: Like Paul said in Romans 8:28: “We know that all things work together for good to them that love Yah, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Dave: We see this theme over and over in Scripture. If you’ve still got your Bible close, turn to Deuteronomy 11. After pronouncing rich blessings on Israel if they obey Him, Yahuwah warns what the consequences of disobedience would be. And this holds true for any nation today.

If you’ve got it, read verses 16 to 18.

Miles:

Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; And then Yahuwah’s wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which Yahuwah giveth you. Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. [Deut. 11:16-18]

Dave:
Suffering is never Yahuwah’s will. However, He can use it to bring us in repentance to Him. And really, when faced with an eternity of living with Him, isn’t that worth it?

The thing we must all remember is that we are promised in Revelation 21, verse 4, that one day Yahuwah “shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Yahuwah is not the cause of sin and suffering. Those are the result of rebellious wills exercising their own Yah-insured freedom of choice.

Miles: Like James 1:17 says: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

Dave: Yahuwah will never take away our free will, even though it can and does lead to suffering for ourselves and others. However, what He can and will do is turn all that suffering into something good.

Miles: That’s a promise to cling to!

Dave: I would like to add one more thought: sometimes believers can adopt an attitude that good people are saved while bad people suffer and are killed—sometimes in the same catastrophe! But this is one of Satan’s lies he uses to discourage people.

Don’t fall for that. When the disciples asked Yahushua, “Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?” [John 9:2] Do you remember what the Saviour said?

Miles: Uh…neither one! John 9:3 says: “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of Yah should be revealed in him.”

Dave: So, again, Yahuwah can take what is meant for our destruction and turn it to good, but He Himself does not cause suffering. That’s always the result of living in a sinful world.

Miles: Psalm 37:23 to 24 says: “The steps of a good man are ordered by Yahuwah: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for Yahuwah upholdeth him with his hand.”

* * *Daily Promise

Hello! This is Elise O’Brien with your Daily Promise from Yah’s Word.

Charlotte Elliott of Brighton, England was miserable. Her health was ruined and the frustration of being chronically ill made her angry and resentful. Like many in her position, she took out her frustration on those around her. More, she blamed Yahuwah.

“If God really loved me,” she’d say, “He wouldn’t have allowed this to happen to me.”

A Swiss minister by the name of Dr. Cesar Malan visited the Elliotts in the hope of helping Charlotte. At dinner, the evening of May 9, 1822, Charlotte’s rage boiled over and she railed against Yahuwah and her own family until, in sheer embarrassment, they left the room.

Only Charlotte and Dr. Malan remained. After looking at her quietly for a moment, he asked, “You’re tired of yourself, aren’t you?”

Charlotte was startled. She listened as he continued: “You’re holding onto your hate and anger because you have nothing else in the world to cling to. As a result, you’ve become sour, bitter, and resentful.”

Hearing no judgment, only understanding in the minister’s voice, Charlotte asked: “Do you have a cure?”

“The faith you are trying to despise,” he promptly answered.

As they visited, Charlotte’s heart was softened.

She finally asked, “If I wanted to become a Christian and share the peace and joy you possess, what would I need to do?”

This was the opening Dr. Malan had been waiting for. “You simply give yourself to Yah, just as you are now,” he explained. “Go to Him with your fightings and fears, your hates and loves, your pride and shame. Go to Him just as you are.”

Charlotte did go to Yahuwah, just as she was. As she grew close to Yahuwah and let Him transform her, she discovered many precious promises. One that brought her a great deal of comfort was John 6, verse 37, which says: “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”

Although Charlotte never regained her health, she was strong in her Saviour. She lived to be 82 and wrote over 50 hymns. One of them has become the most famous invitational hymn in history. It says, in part:

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of [Yah], I come, I come.Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of [Yah], I come, I come.

You don’t have to make yourself better in order to be accepted by Yah. All you have to do is go to Him, just as you are, and He will accept you because … He … loves … you.

Jeremiah 31, verse 3 says: “Yahuwah hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.”

We have been given great and precious promises. Go, and start claiming!

* * *Part 3: (Miles & Dave)

Dave: Priests and pastors who derive their pay cheque from an organization are not going to want to teach anything that contradicts the stated creed, the outlined beliefs, of that organization. And they don’t!

That’s why it’s vital for every single one of us to study Scripture for ourselves. When someone suggests a new thought, or a new idea to us, don’t just automatically reject it because it contradicts your beliefs. Maybe your beliefs are wrong! Take the time to really look at it with an open mind. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. It’s a solemn responsibility, but one we each have to do.

Miles: You know, this conflict is a whole lot bigger than Catholics versus Protestants, or Sunday-keepers versus Saturday-sabbatarians.

We’ve all been deceived. We’ve all been taught errors. We’ve had incorrect assumptions passed down to us. But what exciting times in which to be living! Heaven is just pouring out truth!

Dave: To honor a pagan deity, well, to honor Satan himself, simply requires calculating your worship day by a pagan calendar. That’s it! Certainly, Yah reads the heart and when we didn’t know better, He winks at our times of ignorance.

But we’re not ignorant any more. In order to show loyalty to the Creator, His luni-solar calendar must be used to locate His holy Sabbath day. This is the issue, the decision facing everyone on the planet: Whom will ye serve?

Miles: It’s interesting how we, as Christians, haven’t recognized the issues here at the end. And yet, it’s not just who you worship, but when, because when you worship reveals who has your loyalty.

Dave:
Character is only revealed in a crisis; it’s not developed.

Miles: Exactly. And now’s the time to develop characters. I have such a burden—I feel such an urgency. Please! Study your Bibles. Make that full surrender. Don’t put it off. Every day that passes brings us one day closer to when Yahushua comes. Are you ready? If he were to appear tomorrow, would you be ready?

Join us again tomorrow, and until then, remember: Yahuwah loves you . . . and He is safe to trust!
