Program 1: The Faith of Yahushua

For two thousand years, believers of every generation have longed to be the last generation. Contrary to popular belief, though, Christ did not give believers “signs of the times” to watch for. Instead, he repeatedly warned that his coming would take even the faithful by surprise. Yahushua urgently warned believers to be ready because, he said, “The Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” [Matthew 24:44]

Part 1 – Defining Faith

Miles: Hello! A very warm welcome to today’s program. I’m your host, Miles Robey. Joining me today is Dave Wright.

Dave: Hi, there! Thanks for tuning in! You know, Miles, I’m really excited about today’s subject.

Miles: I am, too. We’ve got an important one planned. It’s on a topic you hear a lot about. However, most people if asked to define it, simply can’t do it. They’ll fumble around and try to describe it, but they can’t actually define it. Today, we’re going to be talking about faith.

• What it’s not
• And, finally, how to get faith so strong, it can overcome anything the devil can throw at you

Dave: If this is your first time joining us, you’ll notice we use two names you may not be familiar with. At WLC, we don’t use the terms “God” or “Lord.” Those are simply titles. They can just as easily refer to false gods, as to the Creator. We believe it is very important to be specific just who you are talking about and, especially, who you are praying to!

Miles: Right! It certainly is! In his first letter to the Corinthians, the apostle Paul acknowledged there are many entities that are referred to as “gods”. He said: “For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father.”

Dave: There is only one true “God.” And we want to be careful—and accurate—anytime we refer to Him. So, on WLC radio, we always refer to the Father by His actual name, which is Yahuwah or, alternately, Yah. We also are privileged to know the actual name of the Son, and that is Yahushua. “Jesus” is just the English version of the Greek attempt to transliterate the name. The Greek form of the name, Iesus, can also refer to the heathen god, Zeus. And we don’t want to do that!

Miles: No, we don’t.

Dave: So, just a heads up: you hear us refer to “Yahuwah”, know we are talking about the Father. You hear us say “Yahushua”, understand we are referring to the Son.

So, faith. How would you define it? Could you define it if someone asked you to?

Miles: Hmmm.

Dave: Think about it for a minute. We Christians use the word a lot. But we can’t always put into words precisely what we mean by it. Sometimes people will say that faith is belief. And it is, it is. But it’s also more than that.

Miles: You know, Dave, the best definition for “faith” I have ever read was in an old dictionary. Now, I love words. Call me a geek, but I enjoy reading the dictionary! This dictionary was a treasure I found tucked away on a top shelf in a dusty, antique bookstore. It had been published in 1828 and had The Best definition of faith I have ever found anywhere.

Dave: Huh. Sounds interesting. What was it?

Miles:

It said: faith is the assent (or agreement) of the mind to the truth of what is declared by another, resting on his authority and truthfulness, without any other evidence. It is the mental judgment that what another states or testifies IS, indeed, the truth.

Dave: Hmm. That is good.

Miles: Listen while I say it again: Faith is the assent–or agreement–of the mind to the truth of what is declared by another. This belief that what another person says is true, is based solely upon the other person’s authority and truthfulness, without any other evidence or proof available or even needed.

Dave: Wow. I like that.

Miles: To put it another way, faith is a soul-deep conviction that what someone is telling you is true. And this conviction is based on your personal knowledge of the other person: his authority. His truthfulness. When he says something, you believe it because—and here’s the key—you KNOW him. You don’t need any other proof.

Dave: Basically, what you’re saying is, it boils down to confidence based on personal knowledge of the other person.

Miles: Right! Right! And that confidence is important. The apostle James, in his epistle, encouraged believers: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of Yahuwah, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” And then he added: “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.”

Dave: You’ve got His word and because you KNOW Him, that’s enough.

Miles: Precisely. Now I want you to notice what faith is not: faith is not a feeling! A lot of people get confused on this issue.

Dave: Well sure. We all enjoy feeling the warm fuzzies. We enjoy feeling happy and hopeful. We like to feel strong and confident.

Miles: Of course! But the point is, if we are feeling these things, we are not exercising faith! Feeling and faith are two completely different things.

Dave: It’s interesting you should say that, Chris. My wife and I have a good friend who gets confused on this very issue. We’ve talked about it quite a lot before. When she gets afraid or feeling discouraged, she assumes it is because she lacks faith. This, in turn, discourages her all the more. Unless she is feeling good feelings, unless she feels happy and cheerful, or confident, she berates herself for not having faith.

Miles: Hmm. That’s too bad. It sounds like she defines her faith based on how she is feeling.

Dave: That’s exactly right.

Miles: Listen, people, don’t get discouraged if you don’t feel all the positive things you want to feel. Don’t assume that you don’t have faith if, in actuality, you feel afraid! The time to exercise faith is when we are feeling most afraid!

Dave: Faith is simply taking Yahuwah at His word. It’s just believing what He says is true. When you claim a promise, you believe that the promise will be fulfilled because of WHO He is (all-loving) and WHAT He is (all-powerful). That is all that faith is!

Miles: Right! Absolutely! Listen, if you’ve lost your job, and you’re wondering how you’re going to pay your bills and feed your family, it is normal to feel afraid! It doesn’t mean you lack faith if you’re feeling afraid. It means you’re smart, because you know you’re in a potentially disastrous situation.

Dave: And we’ve all been there at one time or another.

Miles: We have! But that is just the time to exercise faith! When you don’t have the warm fuzzy feelings, when you don’t have joy and confidence, when you’re afraid and you don’t know what is going to happen next, THAT is when you are to exercise faith. Faith is just trusting Yahuwah to keep His promises because you know Him, and you know He keeps His promises.

Dave: I like that. I really like that. So instead of giving in to those feelings of fear, you will choose to trust. When your cupboards are bare and your wallet is empty, and yet, with the psalmist, you say: “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread,” THAT is faith.

Miles: It is. You know, Dave, I’ve got a son. I think you met him last week when he stopped by the offices here?

Dave: I did, I did. He seems like a really nice kid.

Miles: He is. He’s a good kid. He’s 13 now, but he has total and complete faith in me. Seriously! When he was little and I’d tell him, “Clean up your room by dinner or you’re not getting any dessert, he knew that if he didn’t have his room clean by supper, he wasn’t getting any dessert! He knew not to argue. He knew that my word was law. And he knew that if he didn’t get the work done, he would not get dessert.

Now, I can tell him, “Get your homework done by dinner, and afterward, we can play some football together” and he knows that if he gets all his homework finished on time, after supper I will kick the ball around with him for awhile in the evening.

Dave: That’s great. Sounds like he trusts you.

Miles: He does! He does! My son trusts that I will do what I say because I’m the parent—he trusts my authority—and he knows I keep my word to him—he trusts my love. That is faith.

Dave: What we all need to remember is, faith is not a warm-fuzzy feeling. Faith is simply taking Yahuwah at His word because you are convinced that what He has said, He will do. And you know this, because you know Him personally.

Miles: That’s right. That’s what faith is. Hey, have you heard of Andrew Murray?

Dave: Andrew Murray. Wasn’t he a missionary in the 19^th century or something?

Miles: He was. He was. Murray promoted the South African Revival of 1860. In 1889, he was one of the founders of the South African General Mission. And let me tell you, Murray understood faith!

Dave: I’m sure! If anyone knows how to exercise faith, it’s a missionary! Right? With everything a missionary has to face, they develop trust and reliance on the word of Yah very quickly!

Miles: They do! They really do. Murray wrote: “What now is faith? Nothing other than the certainty that what Yah says is true.”

Dave: Wow. The certainty that what Yahuwah says, is true.

Miles: That’s it! Faith is the internal certainty that what Yahuwah says IS, in fact, TRUE!

Dave: I like that.

Miles: Isn’t that good?

Dave: It is. It reminds me of the Saviour’s definition of faith. Matthew 8 tells the story of the centurion whose servant was sick.

Miles: Oh, right!

Dave: It’s in this story we’re given an excellent working example of FAITH.

Miles: All right. What is it?

Dave: When Yahushua came to Capernaum, a Roman centurion approached Him and said, “Sir, I’ve got a servant at home who is very sick. He is suffering terribly.”

Yahushua immediately responded: “All right. I will come and heal him.”

Miles: M-hm.

Dave: Now, I don’t know how the centurion knew about Yahushua. I don’t know whether he’d seen the Saviour heal someone, or been told about Him by someone he trusted. But whatever it was, the centurion had complete confidence in Yahushua’s power to heal. When Yahushua said, “OK. I’ll come,” the centurion protested. He said, “Oh, no! No, no! You don’t need to do that. I’m not worthy for You to enter my home. Just say the words. That’s enough. And my servant will get well.”

Miles: That’s beautiful.

Dave: It is. And Yahushua’s very next words confirm that THIS was true FAITH. He marveled and said, “I haven’t found faith like this anywhere! Not even in Israel!”

Miles: Wow.

Dave: That’s quite clear, isn’t it?

Miles: It is.

Dave: You see, the centurion had authority. He was used to being obeyed. He told the Saviour: “I recognize that you have authority. I understand authority because I have authority, too. I tell one of my men to do something, and he does it. I tell someone else to go there, and he goes. So just say it! That’s enough.”

THAT, Yahushua said, is faith.

Miles: Hmm. That’s, that’s beautiful. That’s profound.

Dave: It is. It’s deep. Faith grasps a hold of the desired promise and believes that the promise will be fulfilled even before it is received or felt!

Miles: That’s good; that’s good. Basically, faith is complete and total confidence in the word of Yahuwah. It believes that the promise will be fulfilled at the time and in the way most needed … and faith gives thanks for the fulfillment before it is even experienced. Faith knows that Yahuwah cannot and will not lie. Therefore, having just the promise itself is enough.

Dave: It reminds me of an old hymn. The title is: “Faith is the Victory!” And it’s true.

Miles: It is! It is, and we’re going to get into that in our next segment.

Part 2 – Building Confidence in Yah

Dave: Welcome back to the next segment of our program! This is Dave Wright on WLC Radio. I’m with Miles Robey and today we’ve been talking about faith.

Miles: In the last segment, we learned that faith is simply when your mind accepts and believes that what someone else says is true, and that this conviction is based on your knowledge of the other person as trustworthy.

Dave: No other proof or evidence is needed. Just your conviction that what the other person says can be trusted to be the truth.

Miles: That’s right. That’s it. It’s not a feeling. It’s trust based on your personal knowledge that the other person is dependable and can be trusted.

Dave: M-hm. That’s all it is.

Miles: The apostle Paul understood that having Yahuwah’s promise is as good as having the reality of the promise fulfilled. In his great chapter on faith, Hebrews 11, Paul explained: “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

In other words, Paul understood that if you had faith that the promise would be fulfilled, then it would be fulfilled. That is why faith itself is the substance, or the reality, of things hoped for. It is the evidence, the proof, of things not yet seen.

Dave: It sounds like what Yahushua was discussing in Mark 9.

Miles: Oh, really? Tell us about that.

Dave: Yes, in Mark 9, Yahushua was describing this very same concept when He said, If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.

Miles: Right! That’s good. Getting back to Hebrews 11, Paul went on to state: “Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to Yah must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Throughout the rest of the chapter, Paul gives the names of Scripture’s greatest faith warriors – those who took Yah at His word.

Dave: Hebrews 11. That’s the faith chapter, or, the faith warrior chapter.

Miles: It is! It is! Listen to this list! These are they, “Who, through faith:

• Subdued kingdoms,
• Wrought righteousness,
• Obtained promises,
• Stopped the mouths of lions.
• They quenched the violence of fire,
• Escaped the edge of the sword,
• Out of weakness were made strong,
• Waxed valiant in fight,
• Turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
• Women received their dead raised to life again.
• And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
• And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
• They were stoned,
• They were sawn asunder,
• Were tempted,
• Were slain with the sword:
• They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins;
• Being destitute,
• Afflicted,
• Tormented;
• (Of whom the world was not worthy:)
• They wandered in deserts,
• And in mountains,
• And in dens and caves of the earth.”

Wow! Did you catch all that?

Dave: Yes. It’s incredible. What conquerors!

Miles: They really were!

Dave: Martin Luther was a faith hero like those in the Bible.

Miles: He really was, wasn’t he?

Dave: Yes, he was! If anyone was a faith warrior, he was! Luther had enough confidence in the word of Yah to stand before prince and pope and declare: “I cannot and will not recant anything, for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. Here I stand, I can do no other, so help me [Yah].”

Miles: Wow. That really took a lot of courage.

Dave: It did, it did. But more than that, it took faith. And Luther understood faith. He wrote: “Faith is a living and unshakable confidence, a belief in the grace of [Yah] so assured that a man would die a thousand deaths for its sake.”

He added, “Without faith, nothing is possible. [But] with it, nothing is impossible!”

Miles: That is so true! And yet, so rarely understood.

Dave: You’re absolutely right. Faith is the most vital, life-giving, life-sustaining element in any Christian experience. Faith lets you breathe the atmosphere of Heaven, even when walking through the Valley of Shadows.

Miles: Joni Eareckson Tada is a Christian author who has had experience with this very thing. When she was just 17, she broke her neck and became a quadriplegic.

Dave: Mm. That would be hard to handle at any age, but at 17 . . .

Miles: It would be devastating. And it was. She, very naturally, suffered depression, anger . . . she wrestled with thoughts of suicide. She questioned WHY! WHY had Yah allowed this to happen to her.

Dave: Well, of course! Who wouldn’t?

Miles: I know. I can’t even begin to imagine what it would be like to go through that sort of experience. Eventually, though, Joni learned to paint, holding a paintbrush in her mouth. She also went on to write over 40 books and record several musical albums.

Dave: That would be impressive for anyone, but for someone who had to overcome what she did? Can you imagine that? Wow.

Miles: Absolutely. It’s incredible. But she did overcome, and she overcame by faith. She says: “Faith isn't the ability to believe long and far into the misty future. It's simply taking Yah at His Word and taking the next step.”

Dave: That’s good.

Miles: It’s faith, that supreme confidence in the promises of Yah that allows us to triumph in every situation the devil can throw at you.

Dave: You’re right! And we’re not just talking about the loss of a job, or even the loss of health. We’re talking about the biggies. We’re talking about overcoming inherited tendencies to sin. We’re talking about hidden, secret sins you’ve spent a lifetime cultivating.

Miles: That’s right, you’re right. Have you heard of Oswald Chambers?

Dave: Hmmm. Oswald Chambers? No, I don’t think so. Wait. Wasn’t he—Didn’t he die in Egypt when he was only 45 or something?

Miles: Right. Actually, he was only 43 when he died. Oswald Chambers was a devout Christian minister and teacher. After his death, his wife published many of his sermons and lectures. They’re beautiful! That man had deep spiritual insights into victorious Christian living. Chambers knew that faith is not a feeling. He said: “The life of faith is not a life of mounting up with wings, but a life of walking and not fainting.”

Dave: He understood that faith is based on one’s personal knowledge of the love of the divine Father, didn’t he?

Miles: That’s right! He stated: “Faith never knows where it is being led, but it loves and knows the One who is leading.” He once observed: “Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of Yah whose ways you may not understand at the time.”

Dave: Hmmm. Beautiful.

Miles: This “deliberate confidence in the character of Yah” is vital, it’s crucial to victorious Christian living. The apostle Paul knew from personal experience the importance of faith based on a personal knowledge of Yah’s character of love. In his second letter to the Corinthians, he lists out everything he went through for the cause of truth. He says, “Three times I was beaten with rods; I was stoned; I was shipwrecked three times; I spent a day and a half on the open sea; and five times the Jews scourged me with the forty stripes minus one.”

Dave: Wow. Do you realize the significance of that statement?

Miles: Hm? What’s that?

Dave: Scourging was more than just whipping. A scourge had multiple lashes, and each lash was tipped with metal or glass so that it tore off chunks of flesh from the person being beaten. The damage to the body was so extensive, the shock was so great, and the blood loss was so extreme, 40 lashes would kill a person. Forty lashes was a death sentence. So, they would administer right up to that point. They would give only 39 lashes.

Miles: Wow. That’s horrible.

Dave: It is! And Paul was saying he went through this barbaric torture on five! Separate! Occasions! He wasn’t boasting. He knew that all the glory went to Yahuwah. He was explaining his experiences to demonstrate what is possible to overcome when you have faith in Yahuwah.

Paul wanted people to grasp the importance of faith. Without choosing to exercise faith, you’re not going to overcome in the battle for your soul, even though full and abundant pardon is offered every son and daughter of Adam that has ever lived!

Miles: In other words, what you’re saying is, you need confidence in Yahuwah as your loving Father; as your own, personal friend.

Dave: You got it. That’s it.

Miles: You know me and my love of words. Well, confidence is defined as: “Full trust; confidence is faith or belief in the powers, trustworthiness, or reliability of a person.”

Dave: Precisely! In Mark, the Saviour said: “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

Miles: But in order to have the confidence to believe in the promises, you have to KNOW Him.

Dave: That’s right. It gets right back to having a personal relationship with the Father. Getting to know Him for yourself. And listen, folks: Yahuwah is safe to trust! But you need to have confidence in Him, confidence in His omnipotent power, confidence in His limitless love, in order to exercise faith in His promises.

Miles: And, if you lack faith, just make a conscious decision to begin trusting the Father. Then, start testing Him in little things. He doesn’t mind! Really! In fact, in Scripture, He invites us to test Him!

Dave: Really?

Miles: Yes! In Malachi 3, we learn that the Israelites had not been bringing their tithes and offerings to the temple. They had returned from Babylonian captivity but they did not yet trust Yahuwah to provide for all their needs. So, the Father told them to test Him! Just try it and see!

He said: “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, And try Me—test Me!—now in this, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”

Dave: Wow! And they weren’t scolded for needing to test Him in order to build their faith.

Miles: No! They weren’t! And listen, we can do it, too. Test Him in the little things. Give Him a chance to prove to you that He can be trusted. Look for ways to build your confidence in Him. He will never, ever let you down.

Dave: Amen! Amen. The Father is safe to trust!

Daily Mailbag

Dave: Welcome back to WLC’s Daily Mailbag! This is Dave Wright with Miles Robey. I see we’ve got quite a bit of mail this week.

Miles: We do! We do.

Dave: What have we got for our first question today?

Miles: Let’s see what we have … ooo! I really like our first question. It comes from Travis in Nova Scotia, Canada. It says: ‘Hi, WLC! Could you tell me who you guys are? Are you affiliated with any particular church or denomination?’”

Dave: “That’s a good question.”

Miles: “It is, isn’t it? And it’s actually one we get asked quite a bit.”

Dave: “We do. Well, Travis, as to who we are, the WLC team is spread all around the world.”

Miles: “We are! You and I, and a few other team members, live in Europe. But we’ve got team members who live in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Far East….”

Dave: “Some team members live in North America and we’ve even got some in South America, too. So, we’re literally, scattered throughout the world. And we’re not part of any church or faith community. Our sole focus is learning truth and passing what we learn on to others.”

Miles: “That’s right. We aren’t important, well-known or special. We’re just dedicated to following truth wherever it leads and our focus is on sharing what we learn. We don’t want to draw attention to any one individual. The focus is always on sharing truth.”

Dave: “Well, and it’s really a joint effort. We’ve got writers that do content creation for the website and do research for the radio programs, we’ve got videographers, and people who do the coding for the massive amount of uploading we do. Others respond to e-mails and messages left on the website. Then there’s everyone involved with the radio programming.”

Miles: “And don’t forget the translators!”

Dave: “That’s right!”

Miles: “The website articles and WLC videos are translated into 17 different languages. And the radio programs into, what is it? Seven languages so far, isn’t it?”

Dave: “M-hm. Yes, seven. It truly is a joint effort. No one person could do it all. We prefer to keep the focus on the message rather than the messenger or, as the case is, messengers.”

Miles: “Travis also asked if we are affiliated with any particular church or denomination.”

Dave: “A lot of people assume that we’re supported by a particular denomination or another. Truth is, Travis, we are completely non-denominational. We are not affiliated with any denomination or religious organization nor do we receive monetary support from any church or denomination.”

Miles: “Although each denomination has some truth, each also has some error as well.”

Dave: “Or has rejected advanced light.”

Miles: “Right. Right. Our motto is ‘Take what is good; lay aside the rest.’”

Dave: “That’s right. Heaven is just pouring out new truth!

Miles: “It is! It is!”

Dave: “And, you know, as you listen to WLC Radio, you might hear things you don’t agree with, but keep listening.”

Miles: “That’s right. Take what is good, and lay aside the rest.”

Dave: “And you might find, as you learn more, as you learn why we believe the way we do, that you agree with us!”

Miles: “Or not! You know, we’re not too proud to admit it when we’ve made a mistake.”

Dave: “Right. And we’ve done that before. When more light comes, if we are convicted that we’ve been wrong on some point, we let everyone know. The important thing is the truth. Always the truth.”

Miles: “Yes. WLC is like a clearing-house for end time truths. As we learn more, we pass on what we learn. And that’s why we’re not even members of any particular church or denomination.”

Dave: “That’s right. There is no one denomination that has embraced all truth and laid aside past errors.”

Miles: “It’s true! We’re simply truth seekers, wanting to share what we’ve learned.”

Dave: “What do you have next for us?”

Miles: “Well, this one is from Aileen in Glasgow, Scotland. She says: ‘I have been home churching for some time and don’t know what to do with my tithe. I’d like to send it to WLC. Could you please tell me how I can send you my tithes and offerings?’

“That’s nice! When we’ve been blessed, the natural response is to want to give!”

Dave: “It is. It is. Thank you, Aileen. That’s very kind of you. May Yahuwah bless you for your generosity. The truth is, though, WLC does not accept tithes and offerings. We never have. We would encourage you to use that money for spreading truth in your local area, or helping those in need near you.”

Miles: “Yes! There’s a lot you can do to bless others with that money.”

Dave: “That’s right.”

Miles: “You can make copies of articles from our website to pass out. If you know of a family who is out of work, or who has other needs, use it to bless them.”

Dave: “That’s good, that’s good. You know, a lot of people don’t realize that a lot of the offerings of the Israelites were used to bless others in their local communities. It wasn’t all handed over to the priests.”

Miles: “That’s right.”

Dave: “If a poor family couldn’t afford to travel to Jerusalem for the Passover, or whatever, the offering money would be used to host those who couldn’t make the trip. They would still be able to enjoy a special Passover meal, even if they weren’t able to go.”

Miles: “M-hm, that’s right. And you can do the same. You can be Yahuwah’s hands to do good to those around you and, in doing this, you will be blessed in return! You hear of an elderly person in hospital who’s sick and doesn’t have family around, take her some flowers and something uplifting to read. It’s that personal touch the Saviour was so good at. And it’s how we can show His love to others, too.”

Dave: “It is, it really is. Try it and see! Hearts are drawn by kindness and generosity. You can use your offerings to be a blessing to those around you.

Miles: “M-hm. In blessing, you’ll receive a blessing, too!

“Okay, looks like we have time for one more question. This one comes from Carlos in San Francisco, California. He says: ‘I have noticed that WLC is very careful to always use the real names for the Creator. So why do you still use words that Satan uses for his false gods? Words like glory, holy, sanctify, and grace, are all words which apply to Satan through his false gods.  Why is WLC taking words that Satan uses and applying them to Yahuwah?’”

Dave: “Hmm. That’s an interesting question. You’re right, Carlos, that we should always use care with how we speak of the Creator. And there are some very sincere people who refuse to use any words that have pagan origins. There’s only one problem with that.”

Miles: “What’s that?”

Dave: “All modern languages trace their roots back to the languages Yahuwah assigned them at Babel. Yahuwah confounded the languages! He assigned the various words that were to be used.”

Miles: “Mmm. That’s a good point.

Dave: “This doesn’t mean that the words themselves are somehow pagan or that only Hebrew terms may be used to apply to or describe the Almighty. The Creator Himself assigned words for people, animals, foods. Basically, anything and everything on earth and in Heaven, Yahuwah gave words for the people to use—including words that describe the various divine attributes.”

Miles: “That’s interesting. I had never really thought of it that way before, but I can see what you’re saying.”

Dave: “The dishonor is not that words like ‘holy’ and ‘glory,’ words which are linked to pagan gods, are used to describe Yahuwah.  Those are simply the words that He gave at Babel to a particular group to describe various attributes of the divine character.” 

Miles: “So, when they apostatized from the worship of the Creator, they still used the language given them, just applying it to their false gods.”

Dave: “Right! Right! The dishonor is not using the words to apply to Yahuwah. The gross dishonor is that Satan has stolen those very words that describe the Creator and used them as names for demon gods.”

Miles: “Interesting. And of course when something is stolen, it still legally belongs to the rightful owner, doesn’t it?”

Dave: “It does, it does. Satan stole the word ‘grace’ and applied it to a trilogy of pagan goddesses. However, this word describes an incredibly beautiful divine character attribute. And it still belongs to Yahuwah!”

Miles: “So what you’re saying is, instead of not using the words, we should reclaim them for His kingdom.”

Dave: “That’s exactly right! When we refuse to use words Yahuwah has given to describe Himself, we limit our ability to communicate truth. And when this is done, Satan wins.”

Miles: “Let’s take back the words that apply to Yahuwah and not let Satan win.”

Daily Promise

This is Elise O’Brien with your daily promise from Yah’s word.

David, under inspiration, wrote in Psalm 27: “Yahuwah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Yahuwah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

If you’re feeling afraid, take courage! Deuteronomy 31 declares: “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for Yahuwah thy Elohim, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

With Yahuwah protecting you, you have nothing to fear. Go forward with confidence knowing the Father walks beside you. Remember! What He has done for others, He’ll do for you, too!

On the morning of March 27,1977, Norman Williams knelt in prayer with his mother asking for divine protection while traveling. Mrs. Williams was very concerned for Norman’s safety. She had a premonition that something was wrong, that Norman needed special divine protection. With tears, she claimed the promises found in Isaiah 43 on behalf of her son.

Later that day, Norman was sitting on Pan Am flight 1736 on a runway in the Canary Islands, when a KLM flight was unable to gain enough altitude in take off and cut through the Pan Am airplane, slicing it in half. The massive fire that ensued killed 593 people. It is still considered the worst accident in aviation history. And yet Norman survived!

In that instant when everyone sitting in front, beside, and behind him were engulfed in flames, the passage of Scripture read that very morning at worship, flooded Norman’s mind: Isaiah 43:1-3 “Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am Yahuwah thy Eloah, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour.”

Instantly, Norman knew he would not burn to death. He might still die, but it wouldn’t be by burning because Yah’s word said he wouldn’t burn. He began shouting at Yahuwah, “Father, I stand upon the Word! I stand upon the Word! I stand upon the Word! In the name of YAHUSHUA, I stand upon the Word! I am standing upon YOUR WORD, Father!”

Norman escaped the flames unscathed. Not a single hair was singed. His clothes didn’t even smell of smoke. The only injuries he sustained were those he got leaping to the ground from the wing of the Boeing 747.

When you are having an emergency, when you are in danger and facing certain destruction, STAND UPON THE WORD. The promises were given for a reason! You can rest your whole weight upon them. STAND UPON THE WORD. Start today.

Unto us have been given great and precious promises. Go and start claiming!

Miles: Well, our time is about up for today. But before you go, remember folks: faith is not a feeling. It is simply taking Yahuwah at His word because you KNOW Him and, because you know Him, you trust Him to do what He says He will do. Faith is NOT a feeling. It’s important you know this for the days ahead!

Dave: That’s right!

Miles: So get ready! Make a full surrender. Today! Don’t wait! The Saviour is standing with arms wide open to receive you. Anything you need in order to be ready, He will provide. He loves you with a love that eternity itself cannot fully reveal.

Dave: That’s right, Miles. There is nothing you have ever done that is too dark for Him to see. Nothing you can ever do will change His love for you.

I read a quote once I would like to share. It said: “All the paternal love which has come down from generation to generation through the channel of human hearts, all the springs of tenderness which have opened in the souls of men, are but as a tiny trickle is to the boundless ocean when compared with the infinite, exhaustless love of [the Father]. Tongue cannot utter it; pen cannot portray it. You may meditate upon it every day of your life; you may search the Scriptures diligently in order to understand it; you may summon every power and capability that [Yahuwah] has given you, in the endeavor to comprehend the love and compassion of the heavenly Father; and yet there is an infinity beyond. You may study that love for ages; yet you can never fully comprehend the length and the breadth, the depth and the height, of the love of Yahuwah for YOU.”

Miles: Amen! That’s beautiful.

Dave: Well, our time’s up. We hope you join us again tomorrow. Yahuwah is pouring out new light. Old truths are being restored.
